TRM have vast experience in a number of in-situ and ex-situ remediation techniques including the following:
- Biological - utilisation of natural organisms to break down organic contaminants into less harmful products
- Physical – the physical removal of both organic and inorganic contaminants from soil, water or other media of concern. The contaminants are then further treated or disposed of to an appropriate licensed facility
- Chemical - the chemical destruction of the contaminants within the waste media converting contaminants into less harmful products
- Thermal – utilisation of heat to either a) separate out volatile contaminants from media, or b) use of heat to oxidise and destroy contaminants to form less harmful products.
Often more than one type of remediation technology will be required for a site with multiple contamination issues.
